CSR "North-West" experts are working on the program for development of cultural and educational tourism in Pskov Oblast for the period of 2010-2014. Development of tourism is a priority direction included in the concept of the strategy for development of Pskov Oblast until 2020, which was also elaborated by the regional Administration in cooperation with the CSR "North-West".
“Pskov Oblast is one of the key holders of historical and cultural heritage assets. There is no doubt that its potential is underestimated and underused”, noted Pskov Oblast governor Andrei Turchak in his interview to IA Regnum.
The Program is expected to include the issues related to infrastructural provision of the sector and development of the tourism offer, to select variants of exploitation of cultural and historical heritage assets in the region. Special attention needs to be given to opportunities for development of creative industries cluster on the basis of local arts and crafts.
The Center for Strategic Research "North-West" conducts permanent monitoring of the development of the tourism sector in Russia’s Northwest. The Center has arranged several discussions of issues and problems confronting development of the tourism industry.
CSR "North-West" experts have also elaborated projects in the sphere of tourism for several regions including Ivangorod and Krasnoyarsk Territory.
